In order for the future of Cibolo to be successful, we need to expand the amount of businesses in Cibolo. Doing so will allow our citizens to spend their tax dollars locally, right here in Cibolo as opposed to in Schertz, Selma, Live Oak, Universal City, San Antonio, or New Braunfels. We need to support the businesses that are here already & help them thrive. Doing so, will expand our tax revenue & not deposit our sales tax dollars into the tax coffers of other cities. Because of the lack of current options in Cibolo, many residents are forced to drive out of Cibolo to shop for clothing, for entertainment, & to dine at restaurants in surrounding cities.
Economic growth will be possible if we first improve & expand our infrastructure. Large chain businesses need good roads for customers to travel on, they need water & sewage, electricity, & internet access. We must make all of these things available to new businesses that want to expand into Cibolo.
I want our EDC to write down a list of businesses that people most often travel out of Cibolo to do business with. Then, take this list to our citizens for input on which businesses they want here in Cibolo, adding & subtracting target businesses as the list takes shape. Next, I would like to see EDC contact those businesses to determine what would need to happen in order for them to set up shop here in Cibolo.
People want great restaurants, HEB, better fast food options, & family entertainment right here in Cibolo. We need to provide Cibolo, the city of choice, with better choices for shopping, dining, & family fun, than what currently exists.
